The Picassiette house (Chartres) invites the visitor to an intimate and picturesque daydream…

Work of a lifetime, it was built and entirely decorated by Raymond Isidore. We begin to imagine the magnitude of the task of this humble and touching man. Patiently, he collected more than 29,000 pieces of earthenware and glass, which he harmoniously inlaid from the floor to the ceiling of his house, going so far as to cover the family furniture: tables, bed, chair, sewing machine…

Giving free rein to his fertile imagination, he will represent in a naive style his dreams, his faith, his unwavering attachment to Chartres Cathedral. Exploring this place transports us to an extraordinary, colorful and sparkling universe, built piece by piece, year after year by an extraordinary and endearing artist.
